Amyloid goiter is a rare clinic entity, usually with systemic secondary amyloidosis. In a 33 years old patient, under hemodilaysis programme for end-stage chronic renal failure, we had determined amyloid goiter of AA type. Preoperative diagnosis of amyloid goiter is difficult but ultrasonography and fine needle, aspiration biopsy is helpful. In treatment, bilateral subtotal thyroidectomy is adequate. Prognosis is poor, because of the underlying disease and systemic deposits of amyloid.
