Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) of the uterus is a rare neoplasm with an aggressive growth pattern. Although the majority of uterine LMS is diagnosed with disease confined to the uterus, the rate of recurrent disease is high. The most common sites of recurrent disease are lung, liver, and peritoneal cavity. Optimal surgical resection for recurrent uterine leiomyosarcoma may provide an opportunity for long-term survival in selected patient population. Even if the timing of operation is late, surgery can produce palliation of disease-related symptoms. We tried to investigate the choice of therapy in the uterine leiomyosarcoma with multiple recurrence by the aid of literature.
